I worked closely with the Grainer Town Partnership to advise on artists and commissioning for their major regeneration programme to restore the historic heart of Newcastle. We were seeing to commission a multi part sculpture which would lead visitors from Newcastle Central Station and metro through to Grainger Street and up into the main city centre. The site was about to be pedestrianised and I organised a visit for design team to Sculpture at Goodwood to see the 3-part sculpture in its woodland setting and then unusually we purchased this sculpture directly from Wilfred Cass at Goodwood. We then worked with the artist to plan the location of the 'walking, standing and floating men' in order to orientate the artworks with ideal sightlines within the new public realm.
