Powis Place, Fred Watson, Aberdeen 2016

Close –
I had produced 2 exhibitions of Fred Watson's wooden sculptures but he had also worked for many years in granite for outdoor commissions having won a granite-carving Fellowship at the Scottish Sculpture Workshop in 1991. Known for his precise still lives, it was appropriate that his academically-themed 'wrapped' parcel of books become a focal at the new Powis Place building. The sculpture is carved from Aberdeen granite and I arranged the sale and siting of the work with Alumno during the construction on their new building.
