To celebrate the arrival of Eduardo Paolozzi's 'Vulcan' to Edinburgh Park, I proposed a film that captured the sculptures journey by lorry from Arthurs Seat in Edinburgh, past the artists childhood home in Leith and many of the locations in Edinburgh where his public sculptures are located. The film by Jason Thompson, is narrated by our Edinburgh Park Poet in Residence, Janette Ayachi who was commissioned to produce a special poem 'Volcano' to mark the homecoming of Paolozzi's last major work which was originally commissioned by Parabola in 1999.
The poem was designed by Founded to mirror the outline of the sculpture and is sited in the foyer glazing of No1 New Park Square overlooking the sculpture.
The Vulcan was also the featured subject of the second Poetry Zine' which we have commissioned at Edinburgh Park. The zines are edited by Janette Ayachi and feature new poems by invited poets who explore the artworks at Edinburgh Park.
